The title of his talk was “Perfect matchings in dense uniform hypergraphs“. Jie Han will stay at IBS for two months.

Welcome Prof. Andreas Holmsen from KAIST, a new Visiting Research Fellow in the IBS Discrete Mathematics Group

The IBS Discrete Mathematics Group welcomes Prof. Andreas Holmsen from the Department of Mathematical Sciences, KAIST, Daejeon, Korea. He will visit the IBS Discrete Mathematics Group for 1 year from February 1, 2024 during his sabbatical leave from KAIST. He received his Ph.D. from the University of Bergen in 2004 under the supervision of Prof. Helge Tverberg and was at the University of Bergen, New York University, City College of New York before coming to KAIST.

Welcome Zichao Dong, Ander Lamaison, and Qiang Zhou, two new members and one new visiting student of the IBS Extremal Combinatorics and Probability Group

The IBS Discrete Mathematics Group welcomes Zichao Dong and Ander Lamaison, two new research fellows at the IBS Extremal Combinatorics and Probability Group and welcomes Qiang Zhou, a new visiting student of the IBS Extremal Combinatorics and Probability Group.

Dr. Zichao Dong received his Ph.D. from the Carnegie Mellon University in 2023 under the supervision of Prof. Boris Bukh.

Dr. Ander Lamaison received his Ph.D. from the Freie Universität Berlin in 2021 under the supervision of Prof. Tibor Szabó.

Qiang Zhou is a graduate student from the Chinese Academy of Sciences. He will stay until the end of June 2024.

Welcome Mujin Choi (최무진) and Dohyeon Lee (이도현), new graduate students of the IBS Discrete Mathematics Group

The IBS Discrete Mathematics Group welcomes Mujin Choi (최무진) and Dohyeon Lee (이도현), new graduate students of the Discrete Mathematics Group from January 2024.

Mujin Choi entered the Seoul National University in 2016, received his B.S. degree from the Department of Mathematical Sciences of Seoul National University in 2023, and entered the Department of Mathematical Sciences of KAIST as a graduate student in September 2023. His advisor is Sang-il Oum.

Dohyeon Lee entered KAIST as an undergraduate student in 2018 and became a graduate student of the Department of Mathematical Sciences of KAIST in September 2023. His advisor is Andreas Holmsen.
